Treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD)
An 82-year-old female presented with COPD, hypertension managed with medication, and anxiety. She had difficulty breathing that worsened with barometric changes in the weather and often experienced persistent coughing spasms. She was not on oxygen at the time. The patient was advised to start Wei Laboratories Soup A and weekly acupuncture treatments. Soup A repairs lung damage and restores lung structure and function by activating tissue specific biosynthesis of cellular components in the alveoli (air sacs) and bronchioles.
After two weeks on Soup A at full dose, she claimed 75-85% improvement in her symptoms. It was easier to breathe with less spasmodic coughing. After 4 weeks, spasmodic coughing ceased and breathing continued to improve with slight aggravation during a period of ragweed allergy. She is maintaining well with Soup A. Acupuncture sessions have reduced her anxiety, and the focus of treatment is now addressing her other issues of spinal stenosis, knee pain and neuropathy.
