Successful Smoking Cessaton
I have a patient who is a 53 year old female who expressed a desire to quit smoking cigarettes. She was a smoker of 40 pack years. She has undergone numerous attempts to achieve smoking cessation. Well designed protocols that were unsuccessful for her included various herbal, nutritional and homeopathic preparations. Recently, she even tried using the 14 mg and 21 mg patches of transdermal nicotine (nicotine patch step 2) for 3 months and did not have a significant decrease in cravings. She even had episodes of breakthrough smoking where she smoked cigarettes despite wearing the transdermal nicotine. She discontinued the transdermal nicotine and resumed smoking 1 pack per day. Shortly after, she became sick and was diagnosed with pneumonia.
After recovering from pneumonia, we instituted the Wei Labs protocol for smoking cessation which involved daily doses of 2 herbal products, Brown Juice and LC balancer. Upon initiation of the protocol she immediately stopped smoking. She reported decreased cravings after the first 24 hours. Cravings continued to abate over the course of the next 5 days. She did a 7 week course of the protocol and she has had no cravings since. At the completion of the protocol, she encountered a few social situations with friends whom were smoking but that did not tempt her and she was successful in her abstinence.
