Successful Treatment of Punctured Olecranon Bursa
A male patient, age 57, had incurred an injury to his elbow from a sharp corner (June 2011). A punctured Locarno bursa was diagnosed. An extra large protrusion (size of a hen egg) was the result of the injury. It contained the synovial fluid produced by the bursa (should always be inside). The pain level after the initial injury was low.
Ice and compression bandages were applied for an initial period of two weeks assuming that it would eliminate the swelling. Unfortunately, it did not.
After two weeks, two FASTT patches were applied (2 days on, 1 day off) together with Kinesio tape. After the first patch had been removed the swelling was reduced by at least 50%. Once the second patch was completed the swelling was eliminated. Some massage was applied as a final step of healing.
Upon completion of the herbal treatment the elbow was totally restored. The results have been sustained ever since.
